Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life. For example, you may feel worried and anxious about sitting an exam, or having a medical test or job interview.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a technique you can learn which involves noticing what's happening in the present moment, without judgement. You might take notice and be aware of your mind, body or surroundings.

Depression

Depression involves having a low mood or losing interest and enjoyment in things. It can also cause a range of other changes to how you feel or behave.

Grounding Techniques

Grounding skills can help keep us connected to the present and help us cope with difficult feelings or intrusive thoughts by redirecting our attention to the senses. This can prevent us from getting caught up in negative spirals of painful thoughts and emotions. Using these skills with soothing statements can allow us to experience self-compassion, or self-kindness, which has been also been shown to help people cope more effectively with difficult situations.
